Civil War - Civil War Sword Belt With Strap
As all Civil War swords and accessories, they were more effective during the early years of the war and as new modern weapons such as breech-loaders, repeating rifles and machine guns were introduced the sword became less effective and could only be used in close battles.
Sword belts were used to keep and carry the sword in place when not fighting and for easy grasping during fighting. They were usually constructed of choice leather with brass fittings and shoulder strap to keep the sword in place. A simple yet necessary and functional piece of civil war accessories. Shown with 16-03 and 16-10.
